Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 direct successor is official and is the Snapdragon 720G. A game-centric SoC with improved graphics rendering, thanks to the improved Adreno 618 GPU. The SD 720G makes use of the new Kryo 465 cores, with a frequency speed of 2.3GHz, for the highest performing cores.
The new SoC is built on an 8nm manufacturing process, but unfortunately, it doesn’t have 5G connectivity features. Unlike the recently released SD 765, the Snapdragon 720G makes use of the X15 LTE modem with a Download speed up to 800mbps and 300mbos upload speed. The Snapdragon X15 modem supports 3-carrier aggregation, 4×4 MIMO on two carriers, and 256-QAM. Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G uses the 5Th general AI-Engine, which enhances the mobile experience. Snapdragon 720G phones will support 4K @30fps, possible with the advance AI and CV-ISP.
The SD 720G SoC comes with the ISP Spectra 350L, and can house a 192MP lens or a single camera sensor up to 36MP or a dual 22MP shooter. Most Snapdragon 720G phones if not all, will support 720p@480fps slo-mo videos.
And coupled with the processor speed, the 2133MHz LPDDR4X RAM support will guarantee fluid multitasking. The maximum on-device display for SD 720G phones will reach QHD+ @60Hz. Users will also enjoy Quick Charge AI, which is designed to extend battery life cycles up to 200 days.

Realme 6 Pro beats Xiaomi as the first company to announce a device running the new SD 720G processor. It’s the first phone on our list of Snapdragon 720G phones with a 6.6-inch FullHD+ LCD panel that refreshes at 90Hz. There’s a pill-shaped punch hole camera for the selfie snapper, which are 16MP f/2.0 Sony IMX471 lens and 8MP 105-degree ultra-wide lens.
At the back is a Quad camera arrangement. The setup has a primary 64MP camera flanked by a 12MP f/2.5 telephoto lens, an 8MP ultrawide angle shooter, and a 2MP macro snapper. The device supports UIS and UIS Max Video Stabilization.
There’s a 4300mAh battery inside the package with 30W fast charging via USB-C port. Realme 6 Pro runs Android 10 on top Realme UI and supports NavIC ( India satellite Navigation system) and a side mounted fingerprint scanner.
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max

Redmi became just the second company to debut an SD 720G phone. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is the first Xiaomi phone to feature on our list of Snapdragon 720G phones with a compact body and big display.
The device has a 6.67-inch 1080p resolution screen with a punch hole for the 32MP selfie snapper, all secured under a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5. At the back is a Quad arrangement of primary 64MP lens, paired with 119-degree FoV ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. The device supports RAW photography and improved night mode.
Power will be delivered through a 5020mAh battery with 33W fast charge support via USB-C port. Meanwhile, the 8nm SD 720G Chipset is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The device is available in Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Black.
Redmi Note 9 Pro
The Redmi Note 9 Pro makes it the second Xiaomi phone on our Snapdragon 720G phones. It supports similar specs with the Note 9 Pro Max, but a bit of downgrade on the camera and charging speed.
Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 16MP selfie snapper, also integrated inside a punch hole. At the back is a 48MP sensor with 8MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth lens. The battery capacity is 5020mAh but settles with an 18W fast charging.
Meanwhile, the screen measures 6.67-inch with SD 720G SoC under the hood. The color options are the same while the pricing will start at $175.
Redmi Note 9S
Redmi Note 9S is the third Xiaomi phone to feature in our list of Snapdragon 720G phones. It’s the global version of the Note 9 Pro, meaning the performance is on par with the former.
Meanwhile, you get a 6.67-inch dot display, Quad primary 48MP snapper, and a single 16MP selfie shooter. The battery is 5020mAh and supports 18W fast charge. Outside the box, you get Android 10 on top MIUI 11.
However, if you want better camera performance and fast charging, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max will be a better option, but for now, it’s exclusive for Indians.
POCO M2 Pro
Recently announced, the Poco M2 Pro is arguably a gap between the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Note 9 Pro Max. It keeps the 5000mAh battery but borrows a 33W fast charging solution from the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.
The cameras are identical with the Note 9 Pro – a primary 48MP, an 8MP ultrawide-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro, and 2MP depth. On the front notch is a 16MP shooter for taking exquisite selfies.
As the first POCO phone on our list of Snapdragon 720G phones, you get the POCO launcher, but the device runs MIUI 11 custom Android skin based on Android 10. Other features of the device are 6.67-inch display, splash resistance, Bluetooth 5.1, IR Blaster, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
Realme 7 Pro

Realme 7 Pro is the latest device on our list of Snapdragon 720G phones. It brings so much to the lists and is currently the most exciting device when compared to others. From the 6.4-inch AMOLED display, through the fast charging, to the aggressive price tag, the Realme 7 Pro justifies the $300 price tag.
The device has a 4500mAh battery that charges in 34 minutes from 0-100, thanks to the 65W charger. On the camera department, is a Quad arrangement of a primary 64MP snapper, 8MP ultrawide angle-lens, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor, while the front camera is a 32MP shooter.
Because the screen is AMOLED, you get an in-screen fingerprint reader, and coupled with the SD 720G SoC, is up to 8GB UFS 2.1 RAM. The Realme 7 Pro is offered in two colors: Mirror Silver and Mirror Blue.
