It’s no news again, how Poco after the release of the Pocophone F1 in 2018, has gone to releasing rebadged Redmi phones. Early this year, the company introduced the Redmi 30 in India as POCO X2 and later released the Redmi K30 Pro as POCO F2 Pro. And not long ago, they launched the M2 Pro, which is the rebadged Redmi Note 9 Pro, except for the few perks; gradient finish and 33W fast charging solution.

It seems the company will continue in that trail as it’s about to release what should be their first entry-level smartphone. The Redmi 9C has appeared on the BIS ( Bureau of Indian Standards) website with a codename”angelicain” unlike in other regions, where the device is codenamed “angelica”. It appeared under the Poco-branding, and as such, will debut with POCO Crest at the back.

Going by the reports, Redmi 9C will debut in India with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD and will run Mediatek Helio G35 Octa-Core processor. It will be paired with up to 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage while housing three camera lenses at the back: 13MP + 5MP + 2MP shooters. The front snapper will be capped at 5MP and will feature a 5000mAh battery with support for the 10W fast charging solution.

The device will run Android 10 outside-of-the-box based on MIUI 12, and it’s expected to have an aggressive price tag. It’s still unclear what will be the name of the device or the time frame for the launch, but we expect to learn that and more in the coming days.
