Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S adds more flavor to the 7-series

With the unveiling of Redmi 7, we thought the 7-series is nearing completion but is only the beginning. Xiaomi has just announced Redmi Note 7S in India and according to TENNA listing, Redmi 7A will soon go official. The company is looking to use the brand popularity in India to reach more users after the Redmi 7 -series reached 2 million sales in 2 months.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S, however, is built around a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display of 1080p resolution. It features a 19.5:9 aspect ratio panel of 409 PPI pixel density and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. There’s a water drop notch for the 13MP selfie camera.

At the back is a dual 48MP Quad-Bayer sensor that merges 4 pixels into 1 for a brighter shot, It’s basically a 12MP lens. The sensor is paired with a 5MP f/2.4 aperture depth sensor and features Night mode and HDR enhancement for better low light shots.

Under the hood is Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. There’s an option for expansion using MicroSD card and Out of the box, the device will run Android 9 on top MIUI 10 skin.

The Redmi Note 7S will be powered by a 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge support (18W). However, you need to spend on an extra adapter if you need the extra speed because the package comes with a regular 10W adapter.

The device will be available from 23 May on Flipkart and MI.com in colors of Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue, and Ruby Red. Redmi Note 7S pricing starts from INR 10,999 ($157) for the 3/32GB based version and INR 12,999 ($187) for the 4/64GB memory combo.
