You iPhone could be ban from using Whatsapp a few weeks from now
Since 2016, WhatsApp has been clamping down on smartphones with outdated OS. Blackberry and Nokia mobile were first to witness the brutal WhatsApp ban and is among the reason these companies are still struggling to get back to the top again. And just like blackberry phones, iPhones could get the same ban starting from December 31, 2019.
The chat app has been warning smartphone users of possible WhatsApp ban and is like they’re not looking back this time. Most of these users, however, can continue using Whatsapp by upgrading their OS to iOS 8 or Android 7, at least. Also, all windows operating devices after December 31, will stop supporting WhatsApp chat.
This news was confirmed by WhatsApp on its support page, that any user running anything older than iOS 7 or Android 2.3.7, will be swiftly ditched from making use of the popular chat app. And according to the company, they will stop supporting all windows phone on the last day of 2019. While starting from February 1, 2020, the iPhone and Android WhatsApp ban will commence.
The reason for these changes we understand is in preparation for the dark mode feature for WhatsApp. Some social apps like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook messenger, among others, already got the feature and it looks like WhatsApp is not serious in that regard. However, it seems they are still testing this feature, and will now have to make these necessary changes.
The list of phones that already got WhatsApp ban

According to WhatsApp, they plan to use the coming few years and focus on a mobile platform with a large number of users. But if the time frame isn’t convenient for you as per getting a new phone, making use of WhatsApp Web would be a good idea. At least you won’t be cut off entirely.
