The Redmi 9 units in Russia are now adopting the much-anticipated MIUI 12 update, just in time before the MIUI 12.5 gets underway. Xiaomi has suspended the development of MIUI 12, with engineers now focusing on the next iteration, which will focus on optimization and stability. It’s unclear when the update is going to start seeding, at least to beta testers, but we hope to find out very soon.
Meanwhile, while we wait on the MIUI 12.5, Redmi 9 MIUI 12 update in Russia is now seeding. The update comes with a version number, MIUI 12.0.1.0 QJCRUXM, alongside the November security patch. It also brings the features of MIUI 12, which include a new control center, floating window, enhanced privacy, and more. And just like other OTAs, it’s currently limited to few users for preview, which is expected to last for a couple of days. The public rollout will commence after that, but that’s if no bug is detected in the build.
