[MIUI 12.5.1.0 RFBRUXM] Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update arrives Europe for Mi 9 SE

Russian variants of the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE starts receiving MIUI 12.5 and Android 11. Check below

Xiaomi has brought the Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update for the Mi 9 SE to Europe after the Chinese release. The device is a surprise addition to the first wave of devices to receive the update as it wasn’t on the official list. Also, the flagship Mi 9 is yet to receive Android 11, but it could be down to compatibility issues. However, we expect the device to receive both Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 simultaneously, just like Mi 9 SE.

Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update for the Mi 9 SE in Europe

Meanwhile, the Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update for the Mi 9 SE in Europe is on a limited rollout. That means only a select few will receive the update for preview, and from their feedback, developers will decide to start public rollout or delay the update. But given the feedback so far, there aren’t any major bugs affecting the system, and hence, we expect the public rollout to commence immediately.

The update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 RFBEUXM – and weighs in at about 720MB. On the update log are features of the new MIUI OS. It includes instant response to gestures and optimization to improve the performance. Of course, a stable MIUI based on Android 11 is part of the package and the May 2021 Android security patch to increase system security and stability.

With MIUI 12.5, Xiaomi has addressed the issues facing its Android skin. However, it remains to fix the problem with third-party launchers when using gesture. And while it seems to be an Android 11 problem, it looks like devices from other OEMs running the current Android OS can use third-party launchers. If that is the case, we hope for a fix to arrive in the future, but for now, we recommend using the system launcher.

Note that the Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update for the Mi 9 SE in Europe is the cross-section upgrade. We recommend that you backup your data before upgrading in a situation factory reset becomes an option after upgrading.
