[Update: 25/05/2021] Xiaomi Mi 9 SE Android 11 update released with MIUI 12.5

Global stable MIUI 12.5 update for the Mi 9 SE now available with Android 11. Check out below…

After weeks of anticipation and a series of tests, Xiaomi Mi 9 SE Android 11 update has been released. Interestingly, the update comes with MIUI 12.5, making the third Xiaomi phone to receive the update. That was least expected as the Mi 10 series – the company’s flagship phone of last year – is yet to receive the update. Only the Mi 10 Ultra and Mi 11 have received the latest iteration of MIUI, but we expect the list to expand quickly, given the speed of deployment.

Xiaomi Mi 9 SE Android 11 update

The MIUI 12.5 update is supposed to start rolling out next month according to the official rollout plan. However, after the unveiling of Mi 11 Ultra that debuted with Android 11 on top of MIUI 12.5, developers started pushing the build to other device users. Now, the update has got to the Mi 9 SE, alongside the much anticipated Android 11. However, like the other two that have received the update, the rollout is limited to the Chinese ROM users. It is also a Stable Beta rollout, meaning only Mi Pilot members will receive the build, pending the Beta preview outcome.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE Android 11 update has a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 RFBCNXM – and weighs in at 2.6GB. It brings the March Android security patch to increase system security as well as a new Android OS (Android 11). The update has introduced all MIUI 12.5 features but misses out on the improved haptic feedback system. Head over to this link for all the features that arrived for the Mi 9 SE.
