It’s no news again that Xiaomi has suspended the development of Mi A-series phones. Although the company didn’t confirm that publicly, that’s now certain as the successor to the Mi A3 never came. The Xiaomi Mi A3 is the only Xiaomi Mi A series phone eligible for the Android 11 update, which started rolling out yesterday. Unfortunately, it was another disaster as all those that updated had their phones dead (hard brick). The Xiaomi Android 11 update rollout has been smooth until yesterday when the Mi A3, surprisingly, started getting the update. All units that had the update installed bricked, and Xiaomi hasn’t released a statement yet. We hope they do soon and also offer solutions to the issue. Meanwhile, a new Android 11 update for Mi 10 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro is currently arriving via OTA. Xiaomi is now sending out the Android 10 update for the Redmi 7 in India, a couple of days after the global models received the update. Initially, it was believed that the update would arrive alongside MIUI 12, but according to Xiaomi, the device isn’t compatible with the update. Xiaomi might as well have concluded the MIUI 12 rollout given the number of phones that have dropped from the official list, released during the global launch.
