With stable Android 13 now available for Pixel phones, we expect Xiaomi and other OEMs to start distributing the upgrade to their eligible phones. And as part of the process for a stable and bug-free build, the Chinese company has released the first Global Android 13-based MIUI 13 beta update for Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro.
Xiaomi, a couple of weeks ago, announced it was recruiting Android 13 beta testers for the global units. While the Chinese models have received the build, the Global users have just joined the party. And as expected, it’s the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro receiving their first Android 13-based MIUI 13 beta update.
The update is seeding with a version number MIUI 13.0.4.0 TLCMIXM for Xiaomi 12 and weighs 4.23GB. It comes with a stable MIUI based on Android 13 and a new Android security patch, and given the Chinese release, the current build is based on Android 13 beta 3.

Before installing the update, Xiaomi recommends backing up your data. The company stresses that you might experience overheating and other performance issues. Also, some third-party apps are yet to adapt to the new OS and might misbehave. Hence, we recommend waiting for the stable version if you can’t live with these issues.
