How to flash MIUI 12 ROM using TWRP Recovery
- Note: Always backup your files to a safe location before tweaking anything in your device.
- Before proceeding, you need to follow this link and learn how to install TWRP Recovery on your Xiaomi phone.
- After that, you should follow this link to download the MIUI 12 Recovery file for your device.
- Also, don’t forget to download the LazyFlasher.zip file [ the step is crucial, or your device, will get stuck on bootloop].
- Copy both files to the internal memory of your Xiaomi phone
- Boot your device to into TWRP Recovery mode
- To do that, Switch off your and press and hold the power + volume up key at the same time.
- Select recovery and click the blue button to bring up the recovery menu. A device such as Redmi Note 4, Note 3, Mi 5, Mi 6, others will show up the Recovery menu immediately without showing any prompt
- From the TWRP Recovery menu, select wipe and Mark system, cache, data, and Dalvik/ART Cache, then swipe to reset. It will only wipe app data and not your media files.
- Now, go back, select install. Search for the MIUI 12 ROM / any ROM you want to flash, and click on it, then swipe to confirm flash. This will take between 5 – 7 minutes to process.
- Again go back, select install, and choose the lazyFlasher file. As usual, swipe to confirm flash.
- Note: you can’t skip this part, otherwise your device will remain in a boot loop. The LazyFlasher.zip file is there to skip the Android security check, which allows the phone to boot.
- Once the process is completed, click on ” Reboot system”. It will take 5 to 8 minutes for your device to boot.
