It’s no news that Mi Mix 3 5G has not received a single update for months now. The device was the first Xiaomi phone to support 5G, but ever since the phone made it to the shelves, it stopped getting any form of support. Also, the device is yet to receive the MIUI 11 user interface, and from the official list of Xiaomi phones to receive MIUI 12, it doesn’t look like MIUI 12 for Mi Mix 3 5G would be happening.
However, from the latest report, it’s been alleged that the device will be getting a new update in June. Security patch update to be exact. The news came from Xiaomi UK Customer support, which also hinted at the possible arrival of MIUI 12. From the conversation, “first update: ( security patch) expected by the end of June.” “Second update : ( MIUI 12 + security patch) expected by the end of September.
This news is too good to be true considering all the events of the past. However, it will be a good thing for everyone using Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G if that happens to be true. But until an update starts arriving, for now, the wait is still on.
Meanwhile, moderators on the Mi community doubt the authenticity of the information. According to them, they can’t confirm anything as they haven’t received any word from developers about updates for Mix Mix 3 5G. They said the Support Team might be mistaken the 4G variant to the 5G models as they have similar development. But a further chat with the Support Team confirmed that they know what they were saying. They have received the update schedule from developers, but let’s wait until an update is available before we rejoice.
