Redmi Note 9S now receiving MIUI 12 update in Turkey…check below for the full report
When Xiaomi released the stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 9 Pro in India, a week ago, the global variants were already receiving a MIUI 11 based security patch update. And because the Redmi Note 9S has the same development with the Note 9 Pro, it was assumed the former was receiving the MIUI 12 update as well.
Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Xiaomi is only selling the Redmi Note 9S in the global market. The global Redmi Note 9 Pro is what should be tied to the Note 9S, and since the former only received an MIUI 11 based security patch update, that’s probably what the latter will start getting in a few days.
Of course, a stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 9S will happen, but for now, we don’t have any ETA. However, it’s said that Xiaomi has initiated the third phase of the rollout, and that will see the update arrive on Redmi Note 9 Pro (live in India), Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, and Redmi Note 9S.
Nevertheless, there’s always a way to be ahead of time, and in this case, you have to flash fastboot ROM, which is probably a long shot if it’s your first time. We advise that you wait for a stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 9S to arrive via updater app, and then update from there.
