New Beta Firmware for AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max released
Apple has been about beta releases across its software in recent months. The WWDC2 unveiled the iOS 16, iPad OS 16, macOS Ventura, and many other impressive software features after which the brand has been revamping them by bringing in more fixes, features and stability. New beta firmware for Airpods, Airpods Pro and Airpods max is now available.
Details of the new beta firmware for Airpods
The new beta firmware for Airpods will be accessed by developers via the Developers centre. And to install the new beta firmware for Airpods, Airpod Max and Airpod Pro, you have to have some things in place – an iPhone running on the iOS 16, Xcode 14, macOS Ventura beta and of course the (supported)Airpods.
Now how do you go about the process? First off, you have to connect the Airpod to the iPhone (on iOS 16), after which you will have to connect the iPhone to a Mac (running in the macOS Ventura) via a Lightning cable. Open the Xcode 14 on your mac and navigate to Settings, and then Developer. Tap on the new firmware for Airpods in the Airpods Testing section.
It is worth noting that having gone through this process, you are now positioned to be receiving subsequent updates as to when there is another prerelease available for download. And what about the features to expect? Sadly, there haven’t been any particular features Apple mentioned to be present in the new firmware for Airpods.
However, our guess is, it should bring in stability, and more improvements to the current features in addition to the improvements on Automatic Switching from the previous release. Fortunately, the firmware will be available to all Airpods and will be receiving future tweaks like the treatment the iOS 16.1 is receiving.
