The Big G Google has been adding a lot of tweaks to software recently. Speaking of the Google Fits, Google Assistant to wearables, and even the Android 13 beta programs with the consumer launch coming later this year. Meanwhile, one of the most used browser apps, if not the most used, has gotten a new tweak. New on-device AI features arrive for Google Chrome.
The purpose of adding new on-device AI features to Google Chrome has to be the fact that the web is as dangerous as it is fun. It’s no new thing that there are scammers everywhere and this feat has made its way to Google Chrome to avoid users getting scammed of their hard-earned money. It was noted that the new on-device AI features as the name implies will use an on-device machine learning model so all information remains on your device and it’s safe.
Effects of the new on-device AI features on Google Chrome
Site notifications can be useful in updating users on the new content on a site, but the new on-device AI features help to filter some notifications you might not want according to your previous activities thereby limiting the number of notifications from sites.
Coupled with the prediction feat, users get access to an updated language identification AI model. This makes Google Chrome translate some pages in your Journeys according to your preferences. The Journeys is a feat that uses AI to group your search history based on certain topics.
In addition, the Big G has made the toolbar to match your preferences as users have different browsing habits, either having to share preferred links or using voice search to find answers to questions. Whichever way, Chrome has been enhanced by the Big G to use machine learning to exactly predict the right tool you need for your search.
