New Redmi Note 7/7S update arrives with December security patch
Since the news of MIUI 12.5 broke, Xiaomi had to speed up the MIUI 12 rollout as it looks to finalize the rollout before the former start seeding. That move has seen the Redmi 8, Redmi S2, and others receive the update for the first time, while subsequent builds are also being released. The Chinese OEM started rolling out a new update to the Mi 9 Lite and Mi 9 SE, which pushed the security patch level to December. The same update is now available for the Redmi Note 7/7S in India.
The new Redmi Note 7/7S update is coming with a version number, MIUI 12.0.2.0 QFGINXM, and weighs in at 336MB. It only brings the December security patch, which has improved the system security as per the changelog.
