Xiaomi has just released a new Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update for the global users. This current build makes it the third build that has arrived for the device users, and it’s yet to be seen if the bug has been fixed. The first two builds – MIUI 12.01.0 and MIUI 12.0.2.0 that arrived before this one didn’t get to all users, and that made the company pull it back. They promised to release a new build sometime this month, and going by multiple reports, a new Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update is currently rolling out.
The build has a version number, MIUI 12.0.3.0 QCOMIXM, and weighs in at 215MB. Considering the package size, only those that already upgraded to MIUI 12 are currently receiving the update. It brings the January security patch and improved system security. For those that are still on MIUI 11, it seems the update is yet to start rolling out for them as we expect it to arrive in a bigger package.
Nevertheless, if you can’t wait for the update to arrive via OTA, we have added a link below this post from where you can download and install manually. However, you might encounter an error as the update is a limited rollout. When such happens, you should give it some days or wait for the public to commence in the coming days.
For those updating for the first time, expect all the features of MIUI 12. You can check them out here, and to activate the new control center, follow this link. The Super Wallpaper can also work on your device, but you need to follow this link and learn how to activate it.
