For some time now, Redmi Note 9S users have been experiencing a frustrating bug that leaves the phone completely offline when connected to Wi-Fi. The device, when it’s connected to a Wi-Fi shows connected, but no internet connection. However, the new Redmi Note 9S Global Beta stable update, arriving with a build number – MIUI 11.0.8.0 QJWMIXM, has finally fixed the bug.
Before this latest update, there has been an OTA release, which arrived with MIUI 11.0.7.0. The build had on the Changelog a fix for ‘modem restarted in some cases’, which we believed would fix the update but did not. Xiaomi acknowledged the bug, stressing that it’s a high priority bug that requires urgent attention. And just as everyone would expect, the company has not released a new Redmi Note 9S Global Beta Stable update with a fix for the Wi-Fi bug.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing this report, we were not able to find out what’s on the changelog, but we expect the update to arrive with the May Android security patch. Also, bug fixes and system optimization.
