Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9T, 9T Pro, set to receive MIUI 12 tomorrow.
For the first time, Xiaomi will be having a separate event to launch MIUI Globally. The Xiaomi latest Android custom skin launched in China last month and will be unveiled Globally tomorrow. According to Max Ma, General Manager, Xiaomi Global internet business, the MIUI 12 Global launch will start at 20:00 (GMT+8), on May 19, 2020.
It’s been 10 years since the first iteration of MIUI was released, and this will be the first time it will be having a global launch. According to Max Ma’s letter to MIUI fans, the custom skin now supports over 80 languages, with over 310 million active users across 221 Regions and will continue to expand.
The new MIUI 12 custom Android skin is nothing we have seen before. It’s a complete overhaul of what we have experienced in the past. Aside from the new UI, the company dedicated a lot of resources and time to achieve a new level of privacy. The control panel has also been redesigned, and now, there’s a super live wallpaper to give your screen a refreshing look. Hopefully, we will learn more during the official unveiling tomorrow.
List of Xiaomi phones to receive MIUI 12 tomorrow
Global recruitment for MIUI 12 has been on for some days now and will close today. On the list of Xiaomi phones to receive MIUI 12 tomorrow, which is also the only device eligible to participate in the beta program are;
- Xiaomi Mi 9
- Xiaomi Mi 9T ( Redmi K20)
- Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro (Redmi K20 Pro)
Those devices, for now, are the only eligible Xiaomi phones that will participate in the beta testing. However, we expect Xiaomi to expand the list and include other phones after the global unveiling tomorrow.
