Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro is the latest device to bag the stable MIUI 12 update in China. It’s still hard to understand why Xiaomi is prioritizing older phones and leaving out the popular Redmi Note 8 without Android 10 nor MIUI 12. And now the Redmi 6 Pro is getting a stable MIUI 12 update, still no ETA as when either MIUI 12 or Android 10 will be released for Redmi Note 8.
Redmi 6 Pro MIUI 12 updateMeanwhile, the Redmi 6 Pro MIUI 12 update is arriving for units in Xiaomi’s home country, China. That’s not surprising, given how major updates are rolled out, however, the global users will start seeing the update on their device in the coming days.
The update is hitting the Chinese variants with a build number, MIUI 12.0.1.0 PDICNXM, and weighs in at 619MB. It comes with all the features of MIUI 12, except for the Super Wallpaper, which the company says is for high-performance smartphones. However, you’ll enjoy the revamped System UI, New System Animation, Dark Mode 2.0, Floating Windows, and improved security.
As usual, the Redmi 6 Pro MIUI 12 update, is also arriving in batches. It will take some time before appearing on all eligible phones ( running the latest and official MIUI ROM), but you can always download the recovery ROM and flash manually.
Note: The ROM will work only on Redmi 6 Pro units running the official Chinese ROM. For now, it’s only the Recovery ROM that has been made available, hence moving from global to Chinese is impossible at this time. We advise you to exercise some patience and wait till the update appears on your device, which isn’t far from now.
