A couple of hours after the Redmi 7 surprisingly started receiving a stable MIUI 12 build, Redmi 9 units in Europe are now getting the same update. It was a case of system compatibility issues for the former, while it seems the latter has been testing the build for some time now. Hopefully, the Redmi 9 MIUI 12 update in Europe will have fewer bugs since it been under testing for months.
The global models received the update last year, but those in Europe are only getting a notification for the update now. However, that’s the case of OTAs sometimes, as there might be some setback in the form of bugs pushing the rollout back. That seems to be the case, as details of the update show the build has been in development since last year.
The Redmi 9 MIUI 12 update in Europe could only push the security patch level to December 2020, and that proves the build has been in development for months. And aside bumping the device security level to December 2020, also brings all features of MIUI 12, fixed bugs, and optimized system performance. The update will arrive with a version number – MIUI 12.0.1.0 QJCEUXM – in a 537MB package.
Meanwhile, it’s a limited rollout for now, and only a few selected users will receive the update. They’ll preview the build for bugs and the absence of any, the public rollout could be days away. However, there’s a link below this post for you to access the Redmi 9 MIUI 12 update in Europe manually.
