Redmi 9 Prime MIUI 12 update released in India

The wait is now over for the Redmi 9 Prime users who have been anxiously waiting for the MIUI 12 update. The phone is basically the same as the Redmi 9, which received MIUI 12 months ago, but for whatever reason, Xiaomi decides to start pushing the Redmi 9 Prime MIUI 12 update now. However, it’s a good thing the update is now available, and you can scan for a new update via the updater app.

The update is on a limited rollout for now, though, and will arrive for a few selected users for preview. It’s expected to last for a couple of days, and if no performance threatening bug is found, a public rollout will commence in the coming days. You can as well download the recovery ROM via the link below the post and flash manually.

The OTA, meanwhile, will arrive in a 608MB package. It has a version number, MIUI 12.0.1.0 QJCINXM, and comes with features of MIUI 12. They include a new control center, dark mode 2.0, new system animation, and enhanced security and privacy. Also, the update brings some bug fixes, optimization, and the December 2020 security patch.
