After the Chinese holiday that lasted for a couple of days, Xiaomi developers are now back to work. They’re currently pushing out stable updates to a handful of devices, and the Redmi Note 10S is pushing a stable MIUI 12.5 build. The device debuted a couple of weeks ago with MIUI 12 and is now adopting the latest iteration of MIUI Android skin. Luckily, the Redmi Note 10S stable MIUI 12.5 update is available in multiple regions on a public release.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi only released the device a few days ago, and it seems it will come pre-installed with MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 11. And hence the current update is essentially a system optimization build to improve the stability and security of the device. However, some units might arrive with MIUI 12, and you should check the updater app and upgrade to MIUI 12.5 if that’s the case.
In India, the update arrives with a version number – MIUI 12.5.2.0 RKLINXM – while global users are receiving a stable MIUI 12.5.5.0 RKLMIXM. The update is also available in Europe but comes with a different version number – MIUI 12.5.3.0 RKLEUXM. With this recent release, the Redmi Note 10S becomes the first to receive the new MIUI Android skin globally. However, we expect flagship devices like Mi 11 and Mi 10 series to start getting the update in the coming days.
