Sony Xperia XZ3
Sony Xperia XZ3, the successor of Xperia XZ2 officially unveiled redefining the Sony flagship line. It comes with massive 6.0-inch P-OLED curved, HDR display for the first time. The screen has 18:9 aspect ratio panel, QHD+ resolution onboard TRILUMINOUS and X-REALITY display optimization.
The design, though more premium, features most of the old materials. It consists of a front (Corning Gorilla Glass 5) and back glass. In-between is an aluminum frame to achieve the sturdy design of IP65/68 rating.
Taking straight from the predecessor is the Octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor, paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage expandable via Micro SD card. On the camera unit is a 19MP f/2.0 aperture sensor, while on the front snapper is a 13MP f/1.9 lens.
Sony Xperia XZ3 features one prominent spec, SIDE SENSE. It’s a gesture tech Integrated to detect swipes and taps on the curved OLED panel. Also, shortcut functionalities like a camera shutter, back gestures, and accessing Side Sense Menu can be enabled.
Also among Sony Xperia XZ3 Specifications is a 3000mAh non-removable battery, while out of the box, the device will run the latest Android Pie. Pricing will start from $800 and will be available in shops and online from September 2018.

Redefining the Sony flagship line is the latest and all-new 6.0-inch, curved P-OLED display. Sony made sure the design is worth it with extended 18:9, QHD+, 1080 x 2880px resolution display. It features 537PPI, coupled with TRILUMINOUS and X-REALITY screen optimization for seamless and bright details. Protecting the screen is a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass for maximum durability and protection against scratch.
Performance
Just like the predecessor, Sony Xperia XZ3 is powered by Snapdragon 845 Octa-core processor. It employs kryo cores for efficient performance paired with 4GB RAM and Adreno 630 for graphics. Meanwhile, the Octa-core processor has it’s highest kryo 385 Gold core clocked at 2.7GHz and a lower-tier 1.7GHz kryo 385 silver. Out of the box, the Xperia XZ3 will run the latest Android OS – Pie.
Storage
Below the expectation of many but does offer a decent storage which is expandable via Micro SD. It’s a 64GB internal storage which can be expanded to achieve extra 512GB. Meanwhile, is only the dual hybrid model that offers this feature.
Camera
In the past few days, we have seen Xiaomi unveil Oppo F1 with dual rear camera same with Oppo R17 Pro. It wasn’t the case with Xperia XZ3 which debuted with a total of just two cameras. On the back is a single 19MP f/2.0 aperture, featuring a predictive PDAF and laser Autofocus. Coupled to the sensor is a massive 1.22um, 25mm, 1/2.3, for bright shoots. The sensor has the ability to record at 960fps, 1080p slow motion, and real-time 4K HDR. For improved performance, the camera unit has been equipped with BIONZ processing sequence.
On the front panel, this time no notch, there is a single 13MP f/1.9 aperture sensor with Autofocus to deliver perfect selfie shots.
Security
One of the key aspects of any premium device is the security system, especially now you can perform bank transactions with your mobile phone. In view of this, Sony has equipped the Xperia XZ3 with a rear-mounted fingerprint for easy reach and 0.1s unlock time, to provide maximum security.
Battery
The battery system has seen a decent boost considering the Xperia XZ2 deputed with a 3000mAh battery. However, the Xperia XZ3 made it with a 3300mAh battery that supports wireless and Quick charge 4.0. The latter is through a USB-C cable which also replaces the headphone jack.
