After the official announcement, the Android 13 beta will open for third-party OEMs, and it seems Xiaomi will be the first to start seeding the update. The company has just announced a Beta preview for its flagship phones and Tablets.
Xiaomi Android 13 beta preview, as usual, will commence after the Google I/O announcement later today. The Chinese company has announced the process of joining the beta preview while listing the eligible devices.
Xiaomi Android 13 beta preview eligible phones
Xiaomi is limiting the Android 13 beta preview to its premium phones. The list has the Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12, and Xiaomi Pad 5. Unfortunately, only the eligible phones were announced, while the company is yet to release the build for download. However, they took time to detail the procedure for participating in the upcoming Android 13 beta preview.
How to flash Xiaomi Android 13 beta
According to Xiaomi, users will rely on fastboot to install the Android 13 beta preview on their device. And since the build is still in the beta phase and likely to contain bugs, you can downgrade to Android 12 using the same procedure. Meanwhile, to enter fastboot mode on your phone, you’ll have to power it off first and then press and hold the power and volume down buttons simultaneously for 4-5 seconds.
Note that flashing the Android 13 beta preview will wipe all the data on your device. It is necessary you back up your files before flashing the build.
