Xiaomi Fold to sell half the price of Mate X and Samsung Fold
Last month Samsung and Huawei officially announced their foldable phones, marking the beginning of next-generation foldable device. Both devices have few things in common – foldable screen and premium price tag. Though none of the devices is available in the market now, Samsung Fold will start at $1980 while Mate X will sell for $2,600. But while both devices have a premium price tag, Xiaomi Fold will start on decent pricing.
According to reports, Xiaomi Fold will opt for OLED screen from Visionox Technology and that’s one major reason why it’s expected to start from half the price of Samsung Fold and Mate X. The device will also come as Xiaomi flagship in 2019 with Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with up to 10GB RAM.
Xiaomi fold will first launch in China according to reports between April and June, followed by separate unveiling in other markets. In China, the price will be around CYN 6,800, €999 in Europe, $999 in the US, and in India INR 74,999. And going by the price in Europe, the Xiaomi Fold will sell between £700 to £800 in the UK.
From the renders seen so far, the Xiaomi Fold no doubt will be a very nice device and banking on that pricing, it will definitely leapfrog Samsung and Huawei in terms of sales. However, we wait until the official unveiling to learn more.
