The saga surrounding the global Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update has resulted in pulling the update from Xiaomi servers. According to a report coming out of the Mi community forum, the update has been rolled back. Unfortunately, there’s no ETA as to when the rollout will restart.
It was a Feedback Team member that confirmed the update has been rolled back. The build has been rolled back for all versions, including those on a different version from the V11.0.11.0. A new version will start seeding once it’s ready, according to the Team Member.
Meanwhile, before the new report, we already reported that the next Global Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update is ready and will soon start rolling out. It makes sense now the previous build has been pulled, which is probably to make way for a new update. We expect the update to start rolling out very soon and going by the previous reports, it is going to arrive as MIUI 12.0.2.0 QCOMIXM.
That said, if you’re still thinking of going fastboot, then you might rethink and wait for the update to arrive via OTA. Also, the build needs additional optimization, according to those already running the MIUI 12 update on their Redmi Note 8, which is another reason to wait for the next one.
We’ll be on the lookout for additional information and will update this space once the new Global Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 starts seeding. And as for those running the India ROM, the update is still arriving via OTA. It has also been released for everyone, meaning you can now flash the recovery ROM via Updater App. You can download the ROM from Xiaomi servers, or you follow this link here.
