The Chinese branch of MIUI is leading the MIUI 12.5 deployment, as most eligible phones have already bagged the update. That’s expected given the arrival of MIUI 13, which will go official next month. Xiaomi will introduce the next iteration of its MIUI Android skin next month and will look to finalize the MIUI 12.5 rollout at least in China. The company has now released the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S MIUI 12.5 update to select users for preview.
Xiaomi is pushing a 346MB package to the Mi Mix 2S in China. It is coming along with features of the new MIUI OS but based on Android 10. Meanwhile, some features of the current Android OS are part of the package, and hence, you probably wouldn’t miss out on so much. The update has introduced what’s called ‘MIUI+,’ New Super wallpaper, notification sound, improved system haptic feedback, and new animation. It has improved gesture response time, enhanced security, and address some issues affecting notifications.
Meanwhile, the Mi Mix 2S MIUI 12.5 update has a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 QDGCNXM. It’s currently live in China, and there is no ETA as to when it will seed for global users. Hopefully, Xiaomi will release the build in other regions in the coming days. Hence, you should keep an eye on our tracker page to know when the update becomes available in your region.
