The Mi A3 is the only Xiaomi Android One device eligible for the Android 11 update. That’s going by the Android One policy, which guarantees two Android OS upgrade for all Android One phones. The Mi A3 only received its first Android OS update (Android 10) a couple of months ago, and as such, it’s going to receive Android 11. And according to a new report, Xiaomi might be getting set to start rolling out the Mi A3 stable Android 11 update.
The device went into internal testing for Android 11 on October 3, and it looks like the company is about to start rolling out the stable version of the update. Going by the Android 11 roadmap posted on the Xiaomiui forum, a Xiaomi exclusive telegram channel, Mi A3 is now on open beta testing for the new Android OS. It means that the internal testing was successful and has also been concluded. The next phase, after open beta test, is to start pushing the stable build to eligible users.
However, it’s still unclear when Xiaomi plans to start rolling out the Mi A3 stable Android 11 update, but we hope it’s going to be soon enough. Also, since the company has started rolling out the update, which has since arrived for Redmi Note 9 Pro users, Mi 10 series, including the Snapdragon 765-powered Mi 10 Lite, we’re optimistic about the update arriving soon. A good guess should be early next year, but we hope to get more information on that very soon.
Of course, the Mi A2 and A2 Lite won’t be getting the Android 11 update. Their Android OS support ended when they received the Android 10 update, which made it two OS upgrades and also the maximum for Android one devices. The only way to get Android 11 on the duo is to flash a custom ROM.
