iPhone and iPad users have noticed a frustrating issue that has to do with one of Google’s stock software- YouTube crashing. The crashing issue has been a bone of contention for a lot of users and they took to social media platforms to lay their complaints.
When the trend of complaints got to a height of it, the brand noticed it and mentioned that there was a fix in the works. In their words, “hi, we’re aware that many of you using the YouTube app on iOS devices may be experiencing crashes. we’re so sorry about this & have begun working on a fix! updates soon”
As serious as the YouTube crashing issue seems to be, it was noticed that not all the devices were affected. Folks at 9to5google checked out devices running on version 17.46.4 and they were running fine.
According to the complaints, seconds(not up to a minute)after opening the app, it crashes. And trying troubleshooting methods like force stopping and relaunching the app was fruitless. Users of the iOS had to resort to the web version of this software as it seemed like the only version without a malfunction. In addition to the issue, it was noticed that Apple Tv and YouTube Music have the same malfunction.
Fix for the YouTube crashing issue
It seems like the end to the frustrating issue has arrived. According to the YouTube admin via Twitter, the issue has been fixed and users will not face the crashing issue anymore. In their words, “the iOS app should now be working fine with no crashes!”. As time goes by, we’ll know whether the fix has taken effect or not.
