A new global update for the Mi Mix 3 5G starts rolling out

Things have taken a positive turn for the Mi Mix 3 5G users since the MIUI 12 update. The device as Xiaomi flagship and its first 5G supported device had a spell for no support. Perhaps, why would a device sold for over 500 bucks still run the pre-installed Android OS? The answer is simple, the device was abandoned, but it seems the company is back on it now. They’re currently rolling out a new global update for the Mi Mix 3 5G with the December security patch.

Meanwhile, as usual, the update will arrive for a limited number of users for preview. They’ll preview the build for bugs, and in the absence of any, the public rollout should be days away. You’ll receive the update with a version number, MIUI 12.0.3.0 PEMMIXM, and is based on Android Pie. It’s a security patch update and has bumped the level to December 2020, improved system security, and fixed some minor bugs.

For those running the global ROM, you can check for the new global update for the Mi Mix 3 5G via the updater app. You should exercise some patience if the update hasn’t arrived, as it’ll take some time. However, you can download the ROM via the link below this post and flash using the recovery method.

And as for whether the device will receive the MIUI 12.5 update, there’s currently no information on that. We expect to find out when the global rollout plan is released as only the Chinese one is out. However, the device will likely get the update, and that would be its second MIUI upgrade, and perhaps alongside Android 11.
