Android 13 beta preview released for global Xiaomi phones
Google released the Android 13 beta 2 preview during its I/O 2022 event yesterday. The update has already been made available to all eligible Pixel users via OTA, while the company also released the Factory image and OTA ROMs. Other OEMs have joined in the Android 13 beta 2 preview, and while others are limiting their testing device to one, Xiaomi has four.
The Android 13 beta preview for global phones is available for the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi Pad 5. Unfortunately, there’s no POCO device on this list, but we expect the sub-brand to announce its Android 13 beta preview in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the build is pure Android (not based on MIUI), meaning you’ll likely not receive OTA. Also, it contains bugs, and we wouldn’t recommend flashing on a device that serves as a daily driver.

You can now download the Android 13 beta preview for global Xiaomi phones. The initial release is exclusive to Chinese users, but you can flash the current release on global ROM.
Xiaomi recommends flashing the build with the fastboot method after backing up your files. That’s necessary so you won’t lose your files when things go wrong or if you choose to revert to stable Android 12.
