Apple iPhone XR

Among all the three iPhones recently unveiled by Apple, iPhone XR price is the most affordable. It starts from $800 and will go up as high as $1200 depending on the memory configuration. The base version still remains 64GB,128GB, and 246GB memory versions.

Apple iPhone XR is built around a 6.1-inch IPS LCD screen, featuring 1792 x 282px resolution and a notch to extend the screen to 19.5:9 aspect panel. It supports fast operation with a touch-sensing running at 120Hz and is protected by scratch resistance glass with an oleophobic finish.

Under the hood is Apple own A12 Bionic hexa-core chip that features in both iPhone XS and XS Max. On the iPhone XR, it’s paired with 3GB RAM and a 4-core GPU. The chipset according to Apple outperforms its predecessor by 50% all-round.

The camera department features an exact arrangement with iPhone XS, XS Max and even the iPhone X of last year. It consists of a dual 12MP wide sensor and 12MP sub sensor. The front selfie camera has a 7MP f/2.0 sensor with HDR capability.

iPhone XR out of the box will run iOS 12, while power will be delivered through a 3000mAh battery that supports both fast and wireless charging. The wireless charging has been revamped to charge faster and the fast charge will deliver 50% on a 30 minutes charge, to spice up iPhone XR specifications.

Display

Outof the three (iPhone XS and XS Max), is only the iPhone XR that featured an LCD display. The reason is to make it more affordable for users that don’t like to spend over 1000 bucks. However, the display still comes with some interesting features: 828 x 1792px resolution, 326PPI, an oleophobic coating on a scratch resistant glass. The display supports True-tone display and touch-sensing at 120Hz for super fast operations. It also has Dolby Vision/HDR10 compliant, wide color gamut and 3D touch display.

Performance

Apple iPhone XR is equipped with 3GB RAM to compete with Android flagships of year, while it’s also expected to outperform them interns of performance. Under the hood is Apple A12 Bionic hexa-core chip coupled with a 4-core graphics GPU.
According to Apple, the two big cores is 15% faster and has 40% power efficiency compared to the A11 chip. The power usage of the small cores has been halved. The 4-core GPU offers 50% higher performance with higher memory bandwidth with the help of lossless compression. There is what Apple called Neural Engine, with half the number of cores as the predecessors, but is 109% more powerful and can do trillion operations. iPhone XS out of the box will run iOS 12.

Storage

You already is Apple and there won’t be any space for expansion. It all depends on the amount you’re willing to spend on a bigger memory variant. iPhone XR comes in multiple memory storage which includes 64GB-base version, 128GB, and bigger 256GB variant.

Camera

The camera sensor is still 12MP, it hasn’t jumped to 25MP yet. The camera which is also another selling point for Apple phones features 12MP f/1.8 lens primary sensor with a larger pixel of 1.4um, the same that featured in iPhone XS and XS Max. The depth sensor has a 12MP f/2.4 lens with 2x optical zoom and OIS onboard.
The bokeh effect features have been revamped and now allows you to adjust the depth of field after taken photos. The HDR feature has also been improved and now with zero shutter lag. The camera captures a 4 frame buffer, interface and also a long exposure which is integrated into a single photo with dynamic range.
The selfie camera retains the improved 7MP RGB sensor. It features a f/2.2 aperture lens, 22mm sensor size, HDR and can shoot 1080p@30fos video.

Security

Fingerprint scanner has been eliminated completely to leave only a face recognition as the only means of biometric authentication. Apple has improved on the tech from what they offered in iPhone X to increase facial recognition speed and also increase the performance all-round.

Battery

There to deliver maximum power is a 2942mAh non-removable battery. It supports USB 2.0 apples reversible connector and supports fast charge technology, that charges 50% from 0 in 30 minutes. It also supports Qi wireless charging and that’s because of the glass back.
