It has been confirmed that there’ll be a global MIUI 12.5 Enhanced version. We anticipated the official announcement next month during the company’s event to launch the Mi Pad 5 series. However, that won’t be happening as the Global availability has already been confirmed. Hence, we expect at least premium Xiaomi phones to receive the update, Which is only an improved version based on MIUI 12.5.
The rollout has since started in China and has arrived on at least 27 Xiaomi phones. Although it didn’t bring any physical features, it improved system performance by optimizing memory and data processing. Apparently, the build is focused on system optimizations for swift processing on reduced power consumption. The update is expected to start seeding Globally from Q4 2021. With that, we have set up this Global MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition tracker to keep tabs on the deployment.
Meanwhile, the update brings three features along – Liquid Storage, Atomized memory, and Focused algorithm. There’s what Xiaomi called intelligent balance, which depending on the scene, allocates resources. That ensures a smooth and swift experience on reduced power consumption but seems exclusive to Chinese ROM.
Features of the Global MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition
“Liquid storage
New storage mechanisms will keep your system vibrant and responsive over time. The efficiency of disk defragmentation has increased a significant amount. Atomized memory
This feature focuses on ultra-fine memory management, making RAM usage more efficient. By splitting application memory and closing unimportant tasks, our self-developed memory management mechanism streamlines memory usage.

About Beta Registration, Xiaomi didn’t and will not organize one. The reason is because the Enhanced of MIUI 12.5 is only an upgrade. It’s framework is based on the current build, and hence, there’ll be no need for a beta test. We expect the next closed beta testers recruitment to start after the MIUI 13 release towards the end of the year.
