Global POCO X3 NFC units start receiving stable Android 11 with MIUI 12. Check for the update below…
While the Redmi Note 8 Pro is confirmed to receive Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 simultaneously, the POCO X3 NFC will receive both updates separately. That because Xiaomi already rolled out an Android 11-based MIUI 12 update for the POCO X3 NFC. Meanwhile, the rollout has remained in Europe and is yet to extend to other regions. And according to reports, a new update is currently seeding for the device in Europe. Of course, it’s based on Android 11 but sans MIUI 12.5.
The new Android 11-based MIUI 12 update for the POCO X3 NFC is strictly for Mi Pilot members. That’s probably why at the time of this writing, not a single person reported receiving the update via OTA. The very few that tried to side-load the ROM got an error message, “can’t verify update: the ROM is intended for internal testers. Make sure your account has the required permission.” Of course, that’s if you’re using the recovery method. You’d bypass the server lock if you have an authorized Mi Beta or TWRP Recovery installed.
Meanwhile, the update is seeding in Europe with a build number, MIUI 12.0.6.4 RJGEUXM. We are unable to verify the changes on the log but expect a new Android security patch level. Also, it should address some of the bugs left by the first Android 11 build while improving the system performance. As for when the public will receive the update, no one knows. It depends on the outcome of the internal test. And if everything goes smoothly, it might start rolling in few days.
