It’s been a frustrating past few weeks for global Redmi Note 8 users, particularly those on V11.0.11.0. Xiaomi released the MIUI 12 update to Global Redmi Note 8 users a couple of weeks ago, but due to some bugs, it couldn’t arrive on devices running the aforementioned MIUI version. Those that tried to flash the ROM manually weren’t successful, and at a time, Xiaomi had to pull the update and also removed the download link from their server.
Before the link was removed the company already had a new build, which they intended to start rolling out soon. Also, they confirmed yesterday via Xiaomi Support that a new MIUI 12 update for the global Redmi Note 8 users will start rolling out very soon. And according to reports, the update has been released and is currently hitting eligible units with a build number, MIUI 12.0.2.0 QCOMIXM. The update weighs in at 2.1GB and has only a few changes on the changelog.
On the changelog is optimization for the control center layout in landscape mode and a fix for the noise heard when the screen is turned off in some cases. It bumps the Android security patch level to November 2020, as well as improved system security and stability. Aside from that, it also brings all the features of MIUI 12 and that of Android 10. However, you need to activate the new control center manually, and to get the super wallpaper working on your Redmi Note 8 device, follow this link.
Of course, the new MIUI 12 update for Global Redmi Note 8 users will arrive for everyone yet to receive the update. Those on V11.0.11.0 are already receiving the update, and we expect it to arrive on all units very soon. You can as well download the recovery ROM from the link below and flash via Updater App.
