Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro last received a stable update six months ago. Hopes were elevated after the global unveiling of MIUI 12, as the official list of Xiaomi phones getting the update had Redmi 6 Pro on it. The update is scheduled to start arriving at the tail of next month, and while we wait, a new Redmi 6 Pro Global stable update is now live. It’s a security patch update and has upgraded the patch level to May.
The New Redmi 6 Pro Global stable update is based on Android Pie. It’s arriving with a build number – MIUI 11.0.7.0 PDMMIXM – and weighs in at 336MB. Below is the full Changelog.

Aside from the changes that appeared on the changelog, the update also fixed bugs and optimized the system performance. Unfortunately, there no change in the system, but there’s about to be so many of them with the arrival of MIUI 12. The update will revamp the system user interface, change the camera and system updater app UI, unify font, introduce dark mode 2.0, floating window, and lots more.
The MIUI 12 stable update will start arriving at the tail of next month. Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro, Redmi K20, and K20 Pro will be the first phones to adopt the new Android skin. The second phase of the rollout will start towards the end of July to August, and that’s when Redmi 6 Pro will get the MIUI 12 update.
