Xiaomi Redmi K40s can be seen as a refreshed version of Redmi K40 or a toned-down Xiaom 12X. Perhaps, the former fits in properly as it shares almost the same specs as the K40s. The device debuted in China a couple of days ago alongside the Redmi K50 and K50 Pro. They feature a MediaTek processor and run Android 12 on top of MIUI 13 outside of the box, while the Redmi K40s features a Snapdragon 870 SoC.

As a new device, a new Redmi K40s stable update has since been released to improve performance and address bugs. Of course, the current build is seeding in China and comes with a version number – MIUI 13.0.5.0 SLMCNXM. Given the Chinese company update policy, the device will receive security patch updates for the next four years and three Android OS upgrades in that time. Meanwhile, there’s a chance we would see the device in the global market under the POCO F4 moniker. That hasn’t been confirmed, but the device has been in the news lately and will likely debut soon. How to flash Redmi K40s stable update via Recovery

First, you need to download the recovery ROM and then move it to your device’s internal memory. After, you should head to Updater App and click on the three dots on the top left. Click choose update package and select the ROM that you downloaded. The system will verify the ROM, and once the verification is completed, the flashing will commence. So far, the Redmi K40s has received a single update. It arrived as MIUI 13.0.5.0 SLMCNXM to improve performance and address early reported bugs. The update bumps the Android security patch level to March 2022 to increase security. You can download here: Recovery.

Update: January 02, 2023

The Redmi K40s is currently running a stable Android 13-based MIUI 13 build. It arrived a couple of weeks ago with the October 2022 security patch. The update has a version number MIUI 13.2.5/8.0 TLMCNXM and weighs about 4.6GB. Luckily, the build is stable and we haven’t experienced any big or glitches. You can download here.

Xiaomi has release a new Redmi K40s stable update. The update has a version number MIUI 13.0.7.0 SLMCNXM. It brings multiple optimizations and bug fixes. Below is the complete changes.

A new Redmi K40s stable update has been released. It comes with a version number MIUI 13.0.6.0 to increase system security and optimized performance. The update also optimized the device touchscreen experience, while the issue with CPU overloaded in some cases when the device was used in well-lit outdoor environments has been fixed.
