The second wave of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition rollout is fully underway. It’s still a couple of weeks before the official release date, but the company has started seeding the update. The Redmi Note 10 5G got the update a few days ago before it was pushed to the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G/Mi 10T Lite/Mi 10i. According to a recent report, the update has now arrived on the Redmi Note 9 5G, Mi CC9 Pro, and Redmi Note 8.
While the Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition is already available in China, the global models are still waiting for the initial release. However, it seems Xiaomi plans to upgrade the international models to Enhance Edition straight away. That’s likely the situation, which is the same thing that happened with the Redmi Note 10 5G / POCO M3 Pro 5G.
Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 9 5G/Redmi Note 9T, Mi CC9 Pro/ Mi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G/POCO X3 GT are also receiving the update. It’s available for the Chinese variants and will make it to international models from November, at least. Nevertheless, you can flash the firmware on your global models, but that requires unlocking the bootloader and flashing Fastboot ROM. We’d recommend that you wait for the global release if you haven’t flashed a Fastboot ROM before now.
The Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition has a version number – MIUI 12.5.2.0 RCOCNXM. It brings a September security patch along with features of the improved version of MIUI 12.5. It is the same for the other phones, with the Redmi Note 9 5G pushing a stable MIUI 12.5.7.0 RJECNXM.
Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G is getting an MIUI 12.5.9.0 RKPCNXM, while the Mi CC9 Pro is pushing a stable MIUI 12.5.5.0 RFDCNXM. Also, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G is receiving the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5. It’s available as MIUI 12.5.5.0 RKICNXM.
