Snapdragon 875 SoC: list of Snapdragon 875 phones; SD 875 phones

Qualcomm is gearing for the launch of its next flagship chip, dubbed Snapdragon 875. The SoC will be built on a 5nm node, making it better processor when compared to the predecessor, Snapdragon 865. It’s said to have a 25% performance uplift in both CPU and GPU performance.

According to a recent report, the Snapdragon 875 SoC will adopt a 1+3+4 Octa-Core formation. The individual core will use the new ARM Cortex-X1 architecture with a frequency speed of 2.84GHz, while the three A78 cores will clock at 1.84GHz. As for the power-efficient Cortex-A55 core, it will clock at 1.8GHz while the GPU is going to feature Adreno 660.

With 5G on the rise, there’s no doubt that Snapdragon 875 will further enhance the experience. The SoC will use the Snapdragon X60 modem, which supports high-quality 5G Voice-over-NR and enhanced carrier aggregation across sub-6GHz and mmWave bands. That will see the peak speed improve drastically and can reach 7.5Gbps on downlink and 3.6Gbps uplink speed.

Another improvement Snapdragon 875 phones will have is improved graphics and video recording. The Qualcomm Hexagon DSP and Spectra ISP will receive a big boost, which will improve device handling of advanced photography techniques. The SoC will improve on the current video standards, and we could finally see seamless recording and display of 8k videos @ 60fps.

Qualcomm is also going to improve the charging speed of the Snapdragon 875 SoC. We have seen a 120W fast charging in the Mi 10 Ultra, with 200W in the works, but that heats up very well when in use. We expect Snapdragon 875 phones to support advance charging features that will reduce heat generated when using these high charging speeds.

Note, Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 will officially launch in December. That said, the specs are all rumors, but we hope to find out all the details of the next Qualcomm premium SoC when it finally makes its debut. And since we are sure the Chip is about to be unveiled, we can now speculate on possible Snapdragon 875 phones; SD 875 phones.
