The Xiaomi MI 8 Lite is built around a tall 6.26-inch IPS LCD screen of 1080 x 2280px resolution with a notch that houses the selfie camera. The camera arrangement is a dual 12MP f/1.9 lens paired with 5MP f/2.0 to make post shot blur effect while sitting on the notch is a massive 24MP shooter, featuring AI for portrait mode.

The memory configuration comes in three different variants: 4GB RAM paired with 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM, and 64/128GB ROM. Unfortunately, the device doesn’t support expandable memory option

Packed inside the slim body is a 3350mAh battery which supports Quick charge 3.0, through a USB-C port. Out of the box, Xiaomi MI 8 Lite will run Android OS 8.1 on top MIUI 10.

Maybe it’s a bit of an upgrade regarding the fact that Xiaomi has stuck with Snapdragon 625 for most of its mid-range device. The highest core clocks at 2.2GHz, while the small core clocks at 1.7GHz for a decent performance.

Storage

Unlike Xiaomi MI 8 Pro that comes with just one memory variant of 128GB, you will be able to choose from multiple memory variants with MI 8 lite. It comes in 64GB and 128GB memory configurations but lacks expansion.

Camera

The camera has the same arrangement but the numbers differ. Coming to the back panel, there is a dual 12MP f/1.9 lens with a massive 1.4um pixel, accompanied by a 5MP sub sensor for blur effects. It’s equipped with special AI capabilities to detect scene naturally and then optimize it for a better effect.
