MIUI 12 update for Redmi 8 and 8A released in India
Xiaomi starts sending out the MIUI 12 update for Redmi 8 and 8A in India. It’s been weeks since the update rolled out in other regions, but due to whatever reason, those in India are just getting the update now. However, it’s still a limited release, and as such, only selected users will receive the update for preview. We expect a wider rollout to commence in the coming days, though.
The MIUI 12 update for Redmi 8 and 8A will arrive with all the features of MIUI 12. Meanwhile, some of them need manual activation, such as the new control center, and for the super wallpaper, you can activate via this link. The update also bumped the Android security patch to January 2021 and improved system security and stability.
For the Redmi 8 users, the update will arrive as MIUI 12.0.1.0 QCNINXM and in at 658MB package. You can check for it via Updater App or make use of the links below and install manually. It’s the same update that’ll arrive for the Redmi 8A users, but with a different version number – MIUI 12.0.1.0 QCPINXM. You will receive the build in at 595MB package via the updater app or make use of the download link below for manual installation.
Meanwhile, flashing the build might return an error message, but that should clear after some days. Therefore, if you encounter such an error, give it some time or wait for the OTA.
