Xiaomi fortifies MI A3 ahead of Android 10 arrival.
It’s surprising that up till this moment, the Xiaomi Mi A3 Android 10 is yet to arrive. Initially, we believe the update will arrive early, going by the words of Manu Kumar, Xiaomi Global Vice President. He promised the Android One device to be among the very first phones to receive Android Q.

However, that didn’t go down well as most Xiaomi phones running MIUI are already getting Android Q while Mi A3, which suppose to receive the update, ahead of others is still waiting.
Things became a little bit confusing for Mi A3 users after the Redmi K20 started picking up Android Q a few days ago. While Xiaomi MI CC9 Pro, along with Redmi Note 7, and 7 Pro is in a Closed Beta for Android 10, and we expect the update to start rolling out in 3 weeks.
It wasn’t till recently that Xiaomi Mi A3 user got a bit of hope after a stable update started arriving on Mi A2 and A2 Lite. The excitement, however, was only for a while before the same update arrived on Mi A3. As expected, it’s a security patch update that brings December Security Patch.
The update is currently arriving in some parts of Europe and the US. It’s coming with a build number, V10.3.12.0 PFQMIXM and weighs a little below 100MB. And considering the size of the update, it’s probably to fortify the device ahead of the Android 10 arrival. Haven said that, you should download and flash the OTA if you haven’t done that before now.
As for when Xiaomi MI A3 Android 10 will start arriving, it’s likely to be in January 2020. We were able to decode the information from the Mi community representative response to a user query. From his words, the company is in the final stage of bug fixing for the next Android updates for their Android One device, and that the update will start arriving soon.
From all indications, the update will roll out the same time as of January Security Patch, and will likely get to Mi A2, MI A2 Lite, while the Mi A3 will not only receive Android Q but is also eligible for the next Android OS.
I hope this calms you down a bit. Xiaomi hasn’t forgotten about the Mi A3 yet, besides Google promises two Android updates to Android One phones. Therefore, the Mi A3 is very eligible for Android 10 and even Android 11, or whatever Google chooses to call it.
As we said earlier in this post, you must flash the December Patch to experience a seamless upgrade to Android 10 in the coming weeks.
