Xiaomi Android 12 update tracker; first published on July 31, 2021. Check below for latest information…
The Android 12 update is currently in a Stable Beta phase and could start seeding to stable users in the coming weeks. It has been weeks since the beta testing commenced, of which few Xiaomi phones are participating. This time, developers make the necessary changes to their app before the stable version starts rolling out. Google is expected to release the Stable version of its Android 12 in September, given the previous release time frame. Of course, Pixel phones will get it first before other OEMs start pushing it to their eligible Android 12 phones.
Xiaomi, as one of the leading smartphone makers in the world, is already making plans. They’re currently testing the Android 12 update internally, with over 18 phones in participation. We expect these phones to bag the update earlier, given their involvement in the beta stage. Hence, the rollout will start in China, where updates are rolled out on a daily/weekly basis to those participating in a closed beta program.
Meanwhile, the Android 12 update will introduce what’s called the ‘Material You’ design. They have revamped Android design and are currently making some adjustments. However, most of these features: approximate location, widget, new emoji, scrolling screenshot, App hibernation, quick tab, have already been integrated into MIUI. Therefore, even after upgrading to Android 12, there won’t be much difference as some of these features are present in Xiaomi MIUI.
Nevertheless, we have set up our Xiaomi Android 12 update tracker for new information and eligible phones for the update. Of course, all Xiaomi phones that debuted with Android 11 qualify for Android 12. Also, premium phones that debuted with Android 10 will receive the new OS for the last time. For a budget Xiaomi phone, there has been just one OS upgrade, and hence, the Redmi Note 9 series might miss out. Here are the supposed list to receive the Android 12 update

Google will start pushing the stable version in September, and hopefully, Xiaomi phones will get that update in Q4. We will update our Xiaomi Android 12 update tracker often to reflect new information.
